NINETIETH BIRTHDAY.—Mrs Emily Silvester receiving ninetieth birthday congratulations from Mrs J. Saunders, president of the Halswell branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, and Mrs H. Brake (light), president of the Halswell sub-centre of the Red Cross Society. Mrs Silvester, who now lives at the Wesley Old People’s Hospital, has worked for both the Red Cross Society and the Women’s Division.
