“The Press” Special Service TIMARU, May 14. In a yarding of fully 80 head of fat cattle, quality was very mixed, and few outstanding beasts were offered. The demand from the local trade was not over-keen, but with the help of northern competition values, taken over all. firmed on recent sales. Sheep or store cattle were not offered in quotable numbers. Values were:— Prime steers. £52 2s 6d to £56 2s 6d; medium. £3B 2s 6d to £43 2s 6d; light. £27 2s 6d to £32 2s 6d. Prime heifers. £2B 2s 6d to £36 2s fid; light to medium. £24 2s 6d to £2B. Prime cows. £27 2s 6d to £33 2s fid; light to medium, £l6 2s 6d to £24 2s 6d.
Personal. —Mr G. A. Wilson will take over from Mr J. A. Tremayne today the managership of the Christchurch branch of the Northern Building Society. Mr, Tremayne, who has held the position for the last seven years, will take over the managership of the society’s Auckland branch.
