YAHABEEBE NOT IN DOOMBEN
Entry Received Too Late (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) BRISBANE, May 14. Yahabeebe, one of the early favourites for big sprints at the Queensland winter racing carnivals, will miss the Doomben Ten Thousand because her entry was received in Brisbane after closing time, 4 p.m. last Monday. The Brisbane Amateur Turf Club secretary, Mr S. Best, said today Yahabeebe was nominated direct from New Zealand by her owner, Mr Lou Fisher. If the horse had been entered at a racing club before 4 p.m. on Monday she would have been eligible to run.
Yahabeebe was second to the' brilliant Australian filly Wiggle in last year’s Stradbroke Handicap and has been heavily backed to win this year’s Stradbroke on June 13.
