Youth Guilty of Intent To Commit Rape
(New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, May 14. Thomas Kane Lay, aged 17, workman, of Invercargill, was this morning committed to the Supreme Court for sentence after he entered to plea of guilty in the Invercargill Magistrate’s Court to a charge of assault on a 15-year-old girl with intent to commit rape. Evidence was taken from the girl concerned and Senior-Ser-geant J. H. Alty. Lay was not represented by counsel and did not examine the witnesses.
