FATAL FIRE ON HOLMBURN
Court Of Inquiry Named (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 13. The Minister of Marine (Mr Fox) announced today that he has established a court of inquiry into the fire in the coastal vessel Holmburn in which two men lost their lives. Mr A. P. Blair, S.M., of Christchurch, will be chairman, and the assessors will be Captain D. N. McLeish, retired master mariner, of Lyttelton; Mr T. A. Varley, of Wellington, Chief Fire Officer, Fire Service Council: and Mr A. A. M. Taylor, of Wellington. naval architect. “It is hoped that the inquiry will begin as soon as possible, having regard to the availability and convenience of witnesses and interested parties,’’ said Mr Fox.
