FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT

Situation.—A cold front is moving off to the north-east of the North Island. An anti-cyclone over south-east Australia is advancing eastwards. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Moderate southerly to easterly winds; weather cloudy and cold; a few light showers at first. Outlook; cloudy. West Coast.—Moderate to fresh south or south-east winds; weather fair to fine; moderate temperatures. Outlook: fair. Coastal Marlborough.—Fresh to strong south-east winds; weather cloudy, cold and showery. Inland Marlborough and Nelson.—Easterly winds, fresh in exposed places; weather becoming fair; temperatures cold. Outlook: fair.
