Offcers elected at the annual meeting of the South Island (New Zealand) Carnation Society were: patroness, Mrs W. B. Wood; president, Mr E. F. Margetts; vicepresident, Mr W. D. Carpinter; secretary. Mr R. Lester; treasurer, Mr W. G. Lester; committee, Mesdames W. D. Carpinter, E. G. Edwards. E. M. Clements, Messrs E. G. Edwards. A. Ellis, C. Hayward, H. P. T. Archbold, R. Stuart, W. B. Olerenshaw, T. Ramsay, N. E. Fehsenfeld. Sixteen honorary vice-president* were also elected.
