CRICKET CLUB’S ANNUAL BALL
Old Collegians’ Function
About 400 members and friends of the Old Collegians’ Cricket Club attended the annual ball held in the Winter Garden last evening. Guests were received by the president <Mr R. C. Saunders) and Mrs Saunders, and in the official party were the patron of the club, Mr T. W. C. Tothill, and Mrs Tothill, Mr G. A. Flower, representing the Christ College Old Boys’ Association, and Mrs Flower, and representatives of other cricket clubs.
The committee which arranged the ball was Messrs R. C. Saunders, D. B. Hughey, P. T Harman, G. C. P. Beadel, M. L. Masters. T. E. Tanner, Mesdames O. A. Hutchinson, E. J. Somers, J M. Tocker, G. Warren. M. F. Hobbs, K. S. Hadfield. Mr T. E. Tanner’s line-draw-ings caricaturing club personalities hung over ballroom mirrors, and a life-size drawing hung in the foyer with wickets, bats and ball at its feet.
