WORLD WAR II MEMBERS

Attitude To War Amputees

(New Zealand Press Association') NEW PLYMOUTH, May 7.

World War II members should be ashamed of their attitude towards the association, a Canter-bury-Westland delegate, Mr G. W. Clyde, told the annual conference of the New Zealand War Amputees’ Association at New Plymouth today. Mr Clyde was speaking during a round-table discussion on three remits regarding changes in the form of the annual conference. Canterbury-Westland could not even get enough support to hold their annual social each year, he said.

It was suggested that World War II members were at a stage where, because their children were at school, they could or did not want to give as much attention to association affairs as to those of other organisations such as school committees.

One delegate thought that because of their outside interests World War II members might be more active in about 10 years’ time.

Mr J. B. Chalmers (Auckland) Ten years will be fir too late.
