The fact that she feels about twice her proper age on most days of the year is taken for granted. Yet the compensating features of Mother’s Day are considerable. No doubt in a large number of homes it will be a case of breakfast in bed, a dinner cooked by the husband with a legion of small unhelpful assistants, and so on through a pleasant day. The custom of making presents on Mother’s Day is also a pleasant one; but there may be some who have forgotten to make their purchases.
