Papal Doctor Reinstated

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) ROME, May 6.

The Italian Central Medicai Commission has quashed a decision by the Rome Medical Council which struck Professor Riccardo Galezzi-Lisi, Pope Pius Xll’s physician, off the medical roll The Central Commission’s ruling did not deal with the substance of the case, but found that the lower body’s decision was defective in form. The Rome Medical Council may renew proceedings in the doctor’s case if it wishes.

The Rome council decided on December 12 that he had broken the medical code of honour by selling to the press a diary describing in detail the last hours of Pope Pius XII, who died in October.
