Woman Fatally Injured
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 8.
A woman who was admitted to the Dunedin Public Hospital on Wednesday night with extensive head injuries, died early this morning. She was:
Mrs Annie Barnett, aged 75. Mrs Barnett was involved in a collision with a car at the intersection of Hillside road and Burns street.
Accidentally Killed By Shotgun
(New Zealana Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 8.
A youth was killed by the accidental discharge of a shotgun while he was duckshooting with his father in a swamp near Hikurangi this afternoon. He was: Steven Arthur Yearbury, aged 17, son of Mr and Mrs R. J Yearbury, of Kaikohe.
The youth, who was in a punt on the swamp, was pulling his single-barrelled shotgun toward him when it discharged. The shot entered his head, killing him instantly.
