Lucky Bill To Run At Ashburton
“The Press” Special Service DUNEDIN, May 7. Lucky Bill will race at Ashburton in the Alford Steeples, in which he will be ridden by H. J. Ford. He was also accepted for in the Southern Hurdles at Invercargill. Die Lo Zingaro gelding is an improved horse since he raced at Riverton.
The Trek will also race in the Alford Steeplechase in preference to the Otatara Steeples at Invercargill. Paper Clip and Subside, two members of H. A. Anderton’s team for the first day of the Southland Racing Club’s meeting, are unlikely to make the trip. The winner of five of his last seven races, Paper Clip was one of the early favourites in the Awarua Handicap, the feature flat race and the first leg of the T.A.B. double. A form runner at Riverton and Beaumont. Subside is engaged in the President's Handicap.
