REVOLUTIONARIES TO SHAVE
Order By Cuban Police Chief .'N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) HAVANA, May 5. Cuba's barbers got good news last night: The 1100 revolutionary members of the National Police were ordered to shave off their beards and cut their long hair. The order for shearing the whiskers and “ducktail” hair styles. trademark of Premier Fidel Castro’s revolutionary movement, came from the National Police Chief (Efigenio Almejeiras). Mr Almejeiras sports no whiskers. despite long guerrilla service with Dr. Castro's rebel forces. Dr. Castro himself has retained his beard, even during his recent visit to the United States and his current tour of South America. It was not immediately known whether the shearing order for the police originated with th« Premier, or whether Dr. Castro and members of the Army would follow suit.
