Prawn-Fishing Industry
For the expenditure of £lOO.OOO on preliminary research New Zealand could have a prawn fishing industry worth at least £750.000 yearly, said Professor L. R. Richardson, professor of zoology at Victoria University of Wellington, this week. Properly handled, he said, a New Zealand prawning industry could equal the present crayfish industry, which in 1957 returned about £1,261,000 in overseas funds.
