Progress In Squash
Squash rackets, which has been increasing in popularity in Christchurch in the last three years, may be expected to make further strides in 1959, if the enthusiasm and energy of the controlling officers can be taken as any indication. In addition to the Canterbury championships and the Christchurch closed championships, the South Island titles may be held in the city this year. The inter-club competition, which was held successfully for the first time last year, will be held again. Christchurch is the only city in the Dominion organising an inter-club competition. Also, it is expected that steps will be taken to begin a Canterbury Squash Rackets Association, as the five clubs in the city are showing such growth.
