CURRENT NOTES
Guests at Lincoln.— The Director of Education (Dr. C. E. Beeby) will give the graduationday address at Canterbury Agricultural College tomorrow. Dr. and Mrs Beeby will be the guests of the director of the college (Dr. M. M. Burns) and Mrs Burns.
Pensioners’ Social Club.— ‘‘lt is the intention of the association to carry on with their social afternoons,” said Mr H. J. Gracie, who is social organiser until the election of a committee, at the recent social and dance of the Pensioners’ Social Club held in the club rooms. A concert party and the Merrymakers’ band entertained the large audience.
Sanatorium Acknowledgements. —The acting matron of the Cashmere Sanatorium (Miss E. M. Craig) kindly acknowledges gifts received in April from the following:— Tuberculosis Association; New Zealand Patriotic Fund; British Sailors’ Society; Miss G. B. Ladd: Miss C. Millar, and magazines from anonymous donors.
B. and P. Women’s Club.— Misses J. Sewell and H. Melville gave reports on the recent Dominion council meeting of the Federated Business and Professional Women’s Clubs at the recent meeting of the Christchurch branch.
