Boxing “Incompetents” Matched With Patterson?

Bobby Gleason, veteran manager of the heavy-weight boxer, Nino Valdes, charged today that only ‘‘incompetents’’ were being matched against the champion Floyd Patterson, to ensure that he kept his crown. Gleason made the accusation in a newspaper interview. He told a Huntington (West Virginia) reporter he planned to ask his Congressman to seek legislation to put boxing under Federal control.
