Athletics N.Z. ASSOCIATION AMENDMENT
Starter To Be One Of Key Officials
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 5. The rules committee of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association is to frame an amendment to the rules to make the starter among the key officials to be appointed by the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association for national meetings. This was announced tonight at the association’s monthly meeting, and is a result of complaints of poor starting at some past meetings. It is proposed also to bring New Zealand competition rules into line with international rules in regard to the weight of hurdles and circles and arcs in throwing events.
