Girl Strangled In Fence
(New Zealand Press Association) NAPIER, May 5. A girl was killed near her. home in Vogel place, Marewa, yesterday, when she was strangled by a barbed wire and netting fence. She was: Jocelyn Irwin, aged 18 months, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Irwin, of 7 Vogel place. She was found by a neighbour about 11 o’clock. It is supposed that the child slipped while climbing up a fence and her clothing became entangled in the wire. She had fallen in such a way that her arm was across her throat causing strangulation.
Motor-Cycle And Car Collide
A motor-cyclist, Ronald Doug; las Green, aged 19, of 136 Aorangi road. Bryndwr, suffered concussion and minor head injuries when his machine and a car collided at the intersection of Worcester street and Rolleston avenue about 5 p.m. yesterday. He was taken by a St. John ambulance to the Christchurch Hospital where he was admitted. Mr Green’s condition was reported last night to be fairly satisfactory.
