ARTILLERY SHOOT AT TEKAPO

City School Cadets To Join Regiment

A live artillery shoot by the Third Field Regiment at Lake Tekapo this week-end will -be watched by 36 secondary school Army cadets from Christchurch. Cadets from Christchurch Boys’ High School, Christ’s College, St Andrews College, St. Bedes College, Rangiora High School and Shirley Boys’ High School will be taken to the shoot by Major H. A. Colquhoun and Sergeant J. D. A. Wright of the Regular Army, and two school cadet officers, Major H. M. Sweeney (Christchurch Boys’ High School) and Major B, L E. Wood (Rangiora High School). On arrival at Lake Tekapo the cadets wiU be assigned to different sections of the regiment and they will be shown til the phases, of the regiment’s work. During the live shoot, some cadets will belstatloned with the batteries, and others will be at the regiment headquarters; Some of the shoots will be controlled from the air. Two Army officers—Captain A. R. Vale and Lieutenant T. G. Martin—will direct the firing from an Alster tißcratt. -*
