Rugby SELECTION PANELS
Nominations To N.Z. Union
(Neto Zealo-ul Preto Awociation) WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. Four nominations have been received tor the North Island Rugby selection panel and four for the South. Seven of these have been nominated as Nepr Zealand selectors. Nominations are: North Island: Messrs R. G. Bush (Auckland), R. A. Everest (Waikato), R. J. Finlay (Manawatu). and J. L. Sullivan (Taranaki). South Island: Messrs D. H. Hamilton (Otago) R. R. King (West Coast and Buller), N. J. McPhail (Canterbury), and R. H. Ward (Southland). .All have been nominated as New Zealand selectors except Mr Bush. The selection panels are of three. The appointments Will be made at a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Rugby Union in Wellington on Friday.
VICTORIAN SELECTOR Former City Man Appointed
(NJS. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, February 17. A New Zealander. Mr A. K. Robinson, formerly of Chriatahurch, has been appointed one of the three Victorian Rugby selectors to pick the first team to play the touring British Isle* team in May. Mr Robinson, who is assistant New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Melbourne. coached and managed the successful Victorian junior team on its South Australian tour last year. The British Isles team will play the opening match of its Australian tour against Victoria on Olympic Park, Melbourne, on May 27.
