Bridge Painter Breaks Both Ankles
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 18. An Auckland harbour bridge painter broke both ankles when he fell 12ft to the ground from a platform under the bridge today. He is Mr J. Porter, of Winn road, Ponsonby, Auckland. Mr Porter was climbing down from, the bridge catwalk to have his lunch, and was about to step on the last ladder when an upright he was holding swung out and he lost his balance. He is in the Auckland Public Hospital.
