TWO MISSING MUSTERERS
No Trace Found (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Feb. 16. There is still no news of the two young musterers who are feared' to have been -drowned when attempting, to cross the Lower Hollyford river on Saturday. Constable S. I. Wallace, of Queenstown, was flown into Martins Bay. Fiordland, by amphibian aircraft this morning. In his first radio report Constable Wai-, lace said that no trace of the men had been found. The missing men are Mr Terry Smyth, aged 26. of Gore, and Mr Allan Weir, aged 23, of Slope Point, which is 51 miles southeast of Invercargill. CHILD’S DEATH FROM BURNS I (New Zeaia-na Press Association! NELSON, February;l6. , A two-year-old boy whose whose parents live at Wairoa Gorge, near Brightwater. died in Nelson Public Hospital yesterday from severe burns received when his clothes caught fire. He was John Charles Vil son, only child of Mr and Mrs J. E. H. Williamson. Wairoa Gorge. The child was playing in a car on his father’s farm when his clothes caught alight. It is believed that he found a box of matches. Suffering from severe bums to the arms and body, the boy was attended by a Wakefield, doctor and then taken to Nelson Public Hospital, where he died yesterday. Driver Admitted To Hospital A man was admitted to hospital with slight head Injuries yesterday after two pars had collided pt the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Antigua street about 12.25 p.m. He was Mr Jack Chaston, of Purau terrace, Cashmere. who was the driver of one car. The driver of the other car, Mr Owen Louis Crequer, of 40 Wilson street, Islington, was not-in-jured. Both cars were extensively damaged. > Building In Kaiapoi.—Eight building permits to a total value of £13,331 were issued by the Kaiapoi Borough Council in the month ended February 7, according to the building inspector’s report presented to the meeting of the council last evening.
