RACING Beau Revere Back To Winning Form In Mile

(From Our Own Reporter) HOKITIKA, February 16. Beau Revere, which had his first start after a spell since September in the Licensed Victuallers’ Handicap on Saturday, showed the benefit of that race when he outclassed the open milers in the Westland Handicap, the main event and first leg of the double, cm the concluding day of the Westland Jockey Club’s summer meeting at Hokitika today. Beau Revere is a member of a successful. team raced at the meeting by the Orari trainer, L. H. Pratt. Other winners from this stable over the two days were Pilot Dancer and London Tower, which took the second leg of the double on the first day and won in both his appearances today.

Beau Revere created a new track record of Imin 39 3-ssec, which bettered the previous best set by Flying Orders in 1950 by l-ssec. He was capably ridden by the stable apprentice, P. J. Kempton. Rome gained his fourth successive win for his Ataurau owner-trainer, F. Dudley, in the second leg of the double, the Thompson Hack Handicap. The Pictavia gelding, which is to be put to hurdling, was ridden by the Riccarton horseman, G. W. Mein, who has been associated Witt him in his last three successes.
