FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation: An intense anticyclone south-east of the South Island extends on to the country. Forecast:— Marlborough and Nelson: Moderate easterly winds; weather partly cloudy with one or two brief showers over the ranges; moderate temperatures. Outlook: similar conditions. West Coast: Light variable winds; weather fair and . warm. Outlook: cloudy with drizzle developing in the far south Canterbury: North-easterly winds, fresh about the coasts, mainly light inland; fair weather, with warm temperatures inland. Outlook: fair to cloudy.
