LOCAL BODY BOUNDARIES
Commission In Canterbury The Local Government Commission will be in Christchurch and surrounding districts' this week. The commission, which comprises Mr A. A. McLachlan, S.M. (chairman), Messrs N. H. Moss and Mr W. A. Lee will hold a routine meeting in Christchurch today. Tomorrow morning the commission will meet representatives of the Springs County Council >gnd in the afternoon it wiH meet representatives of the Paparua County Council. Both the meetings are in connexion with, the proposed union of the counties suggested by the Paparua County Council. A meeting with representatives of the Ellesmere County Council and Leeston and Southbridge Town Councils on the merging of. the two town districts with the EHesmere county, will be held on Wednesday morning, in the. afternoon, the commission will meet Ashburton County and Borough representatives to discuss pro-j posed boundary alterations. On Thursday, the commission I will meet the Levels County Council and the Timaru City Council at Timaru to discuss boundary proposals. The commission will meet representatives of the Heathcote County Council and the Christchurch City Council on Friday morning to discuss boundary alterations. The inclusion of Lyttelton in the Christchurch United Fire District will be discussed at a meeting of the commission and representatives of affected local authorities on Friday afternoon.
