CITY BUILDING PERMITS

Rise In Values Last Month The value of building permits issued in Christchurch last month was £580,215, £238,181 more than the value of those issued during the corresponding month last year. In the inner central ward, 11 permits valued at £92.870 were issued, compared with 15 permits valued at £62,570 last year. The outer central ward showed an increase in value when 14 permit? were issued, valued at £186,676, compared with the previous year of 16 permits valued at £24,690. Although the number of permits issued for Sydenham in January corresponds with last year’s figure of 19, the value dropped from £14,217 to £8321 this year. The permit values for Linwood doubled in January, although the number issued rose by 11. Fortythree permits were issued valued at £78.893, compared with 32 permits valued at £35,985 last year. Altogether, 143 permits have been issued so far during the current financial year. Detailed figures are:
