M.C.C. Match Abandoned
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY. January 27. Steady rain washed out play on the final day of the game between the M.C.C. and New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground today. The abandonment of the match was officially announced at 11.30 a.m. and the game was drawn, with the New South Wales second innings score at 44 for none. J. Burke and W. Watson each being 22 not out. . Drenched by one and a half inches of rain last night, the Sydney Cricket Ground, early today, was dotted with large pools of water The rain continued to fall, and showed no signs of clearing. The captains, P. B. H. May and R. Benaud, decided to abandon play after inspecting the ground this morning.
