WILFUL DAMAGE CHARGE

(New Zeaiana Prass AssoeUUohl NELSON, January 27. John Laurence Cain, aged 31, a truck driver, was charged in the Nelson Magistrate’s Court today with wilfully damaging by night a refrigerator valued at £l2O, the property of George Ferguson Fraser.

Messrs W. Black and R. E. West, Justices of the Peace, remanded Cain to Friday. Senior-Sergeant A. J. Johnston told the Court that Cain seemed to have run amok. Accused had entered the house of a stranger and smashed a number of fittings. The damage would amount to a substantial figure. Cain was granted bail in his own recognisance of £lOO and a surety of £lOO.
