Stolen Safe Found Intact

Thieves who removed a safe from the Blenheim office of the National Airways Corporation during the night of January 12 and carried it and its contents of about £3OO away in a stolen motor-car were foiled in the last stages of their crime. The safe was found yesterday off a side road six miles north of Kaikoura .with its contents intact. It had resisted all attempts to blow it open. The aafe was found by a Ministry .of Works employee when he. was getting wood from & substantial manuka stand about half a mile on the Kaikoura side of the Hapuka bridge.
