Endurance In Gliding

lNew Zeaiana Press Association/ HASTINGS, January 21. More than six hours continuous flying was Completed by a Hawke’s Bay gliding instructor, Mr Roy Russell, of Hastings, today when he broke his own gliding endurance' record for Hawke’s Bay. He took off from Hastings aerodrome at 11.7 a.m. and landed there at 5.55 p.m. About a year ago he established with a pupil a record of three hours 18 minutes for Hawke’s Bay. At the Auckland Gliding Club’s Christmas camp at Piako he was aloft for eight hours and a half. Inquiries are being made to see whether he then broke the New Zealand endurance record, believed to be about eight hours.
