Issue Of New Order Books

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 21.

The new order books for the payment of superannuation benefits were now being issued, the Minister of Social Security (Miss Howard) said today. Miss Howard said, that the Social Security Department had about 85,000 order books to prepare. They were now being released. Each beneficiary would be individually notified when and where his book would be available.

“The first order in the book will cover the quarter ending March 31, 1959, and may be cashed on or after that date,” said Miss Howard. “Thereafter, orders will become due for payment at four-weekly intervals. When signed by the beneficiary or an authorised agent, orders may be cashed at any post office money order office or social security paying office, or may be lodged to the credit nf a beneficiary’s bank account.” Miss Howard emphasised that every superannuation beneficiary Would receive notice in ample time to enable the collection of the order book before the next benefit instalment on March 31.
