FROTH WILL NOT RACE IN U.S.
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, January 21. * The Auckland Cup winner Froth is unlikely to go to the United States. A Melbourne bloodstock agent Mr J. Shannon, said today that the free-going Froth would be an ideal type for the Washington International, run at Laurel. But be has advised that Froth’s owner, Mrs J. N. Lowry, does not want the Faux Tirage mare to go to America. Mr Shannon today denied reports that be had made an offer of 200,000 dollars on behalf of American interests for Froth. “That’s just fantastic. No figure was mentioned at any time to Mrs Lowry,” Mr Shannon said. Mr Shannon accompanied the Australian horse Sailor’s Guide to Washington for last year’s Intel - national race. Sailor's Guide ran second and was promoted to first after being badly checked several times during the race.
