Lawn Tennis MEN’S RANKING LIST
Publication At End Of Month
No provincial ranking list in lawn tennis for men will be issued until the end of January. This information was given yesterday by Mr M. C. Healey, a member of the Canterbury selection committee. In explaining the committee’s decision, Mr Healey said that It was felt that several contenders for leading positions on the ranking lists had not yet played sufficient challenge matches to justify the publication of an official order. Mr Healey expects that it will be possible to compile a correct ranking list after a further two series of ranking matches have been played. This would mean that the list should be completed at the end of this month. Attempts to complete the list before that date would be unfair to the players concerned, said Mr Healey.
