CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF
Visit To City In March
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear-Admiral J. M. Villiers, will make his annual inspection of Royal New Zealand Navy establishments and units in Christchurch in March. Admiral Villiers, accompanied by his wife and the Director of Naval Reserves and Mobilisation (Commander J. D. Keay), is due in Christchurch by air from Wellington on Thursday, March 12. In the evening he has accepted an engagement to address the Canterbury Officers’ Club. ' On Friday, March 13, he will inspect H.M.N.Z.S. Pegasus, headquarters of the Canterbury division of the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve in Montreal street, and visit Lyttelton and the Navy armament depot at Cass Bay. On the Saturday he will review a combined parade of the reserve division and sea cadet units.
Admiral Villiers, Mrs Villiers and Commander Keay will return to Wellington by air on Monday, March 16.
