League Offer To Meckiff
(N.Z. Press Association-Copyright) SYDNEY, January 14. The Australian fast bowler, I. Meckiff,. is reported to have received a £l2OO offer from the English league club, Accrington. It would require him to play for the Lancashire League club in the 1959 season. Accrington’s offer has not yet officially reached Meckiff but he is expected to receive a cable ; shortly. “This puts me in a bit of a spot," Meckiff said today. “I would love to take my family to England on this offer. But we are due for a family addition at the end of April. “I’d love to go to. England if she could come with me.’’ he said. Meckiff said that he would require his return passage in addition to the amount of the offer.
