Completion Of Report Delayed
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 13. The final report on the Mangere aerodrome development plan by the American airport consultant, Mr Leigh Fisher, will not now be completed until at least Easter or the end of March. Mr Fisher will probably arrive in Auckland with the report early in April He presented his preliminary report in Auckland in November, and was scheduled to return- with the final draft this month. He has told the chairman of the International Airport Committee (Mr J. W. Hyland) by cablegram that his report has been delayed while he considers Ministry of Works data given to him in November.
Mr Fisher said that he intended to reduce the cost of the first stage—the 6000 ft runway. The second stage involves extension to 10,000 ft to take jet airliners.
