Oakes Shield Match
In a challenge match for the Canterbury Rifle Association's Oakes shield the holders, Malvern, was beaten'by the challenger. Wai.u, by 21 points. Waiau shot well and handled the tricky conditions much better then the Malvern team. B. Hoban, with 100 points, end G. Bland, with M, were outstanding for the winners W. Oakley 08 and I. Barker 96 were best for Malvern. Scores were:—
