VISIT OF U.S. FARM LEADERS
Study Of N.Z. Sheep Industry
A group of American farm leaders who are visiting New Zealand under the sponsorship of Federated Farmers, to study the New Zealand sheep industry and to have discussions with representatives of the sheepfarming industry, will arrive in Christchurch on Tuesday evening. . They will be billeted with North Canterbury farmers during their fourday visit.
On Friday morning they will visit a dairy farm owned by Mr C. W. Humm at Waikuku and the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company’s freezing works at Belfast. In the afternoon they will visit Dalgety and Company’s new wool store in Moorhouse avenue, Mr T. E. M. Brook’s Southdown stud at Brookside and Mr A. C. Wright’s farm at Dunsandel. The next day the party will inspect the Corriedale studs of the estate H. T. Little at Hui Hui and Mr H. C. A. Sidey at Glenovis before seeing back country shearing on the Glens of Tekoa station Th® »■**«♦ of will be spent visiting back country farms.
It is hoped that a flight over the Canterbury Plains will be arranged for the Sunday, but this is not yet definite. The party will travel to Ashburton on Monday morning, via Kirwee, and after lunch at Ashburton will continue on to Timaru to meet members of South Canterbury , Federated Fanners.
