MAGISTRATE’S COURT
WEDNESDAY (Before Mr G. L, Pomfret-Dodd, J.P., and Mr W. Peers, J.P.) VAGRANCY Described as being “a bit down on his luck,” John Edmund Carroll, aged 38, a workman, pleaded guilty to a charge of being idle and disorderly. He was given a suspended sentence of six months’ imprisonment on condition that he stays under the care of the Salvation Army. Sergeant E. S. Tuck said that Carroll was found wandering the streets. “He said he had not worked for < the last two weeks and had been sleeping out for two nights. The Salvation Army authorities are prepared to take him and get him rehabilitated," said Sergeant Tuck. THURSDAY (Before Mr L. Petrie, J.P.) REMANDED Facing a charge of breaking and entering the premises of the New Zealand Coffee and Spice Company, Ltd., at 321 Durham street, Thomas James Kerr, aged 22, a workman, was remanded until January 5. Ha was released on ball.
