(New Zeaiana Press Association/ INVERCARGILL. January 1. The Mosgiel trainer. D. P. Wilson, had a good innings at the Wyndham Racing Club’s annual New Year’s Day meeting when he won races with Sparkler, Cornflake and Grate Game.
Apart from a few showers late in the afternoon, the meeting was held in fine weather. The track was hard and fast. The winning double—Cornflake and Kinsimm—returned £49 4s 6d for £l.
The totalisator turnover of £33.639 10s - was down £6856 10s on last year’s total of £40,496. J. M. Cappie. who finished fourth on King’s Lace in the Wyndham Cup, was fined £2 for failing to weigh-in and the horse was disqualified from the placing. Treasure Pond was promoted to fourth. Results:—
