CHRISTMAS PARTIES
Pan Pacific Branch Films of Japan taken while delegates from New Zealand were attending the Pan Pacific and South-east Asia Women’s Association conference in Tokyo this year were the main feature of the Christchurch branch’s Christmas party last evening. Miss Mary McLean welcomed about 70 members and introduced Mr M. G. Smith who led carol singing at the beginning of the evening. Songs were given by Mr J. E. Mason accompanied by Mrs Mason.
Stewart’s Gully W.D.F.F. The Stewart’s Gully branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers combined with the Brooklands branch for a Christmas party. Annual awards to competition winners for the year, in the Stewart’s Gully branch, were as follows: Handwork, Mrs Philpott; cooking, Mrs Cawood; flowers, Mrs Kidd; decorative work, Mrs Butts; most points without winning a prize, Mrs Halt
