Situation: A complex low pressure area covers the Tasman Sea and a humid northerly airstream covers New Zealand.
Forecast:— Canterbury: Moderate east or north-east winds, fresh on the coast Weather mainly fair to cloudy this morning, but overcast later with scattered rain or showers, especially about the hills. Temperatures mild. Outlook: some occasional showers. West Coast and Nelson: Northerlies predominating and becoming fresh in some exposed positions. Weather overcast and mild with occasional rain or showers and some local thunderstorms. Outlook: occasional rain or showers at first, but a gradual clearance later. Marlborough: Moderate to fresh northerly winds. Weather mainly fair to cloudy this morning and overcast later with occasional rain or showers in the north and west and some scattered showers elsewhere Mild temperatures. Outlook: showery at first. '
