Few Puncture Problems With Tubeless Tyres
VVITH tubeless tyres becoming ’’ almost universal on today’s new cars, many motorists have found fault with them because they have not understood how easy they are to repair. When an owner finds his tubeless tyre losing pressure he usually takes it to a garage, and this may happen several times in each year if covers a big mileage. In fact, there could be nothing simpler than the repair of the many brands of tubeless tyre? on the market. The main advantage is that repairs to four tyres takes less than 30 minutes, and the wheels can be left on the car 'during the whole operation. A number of repair kits are available, and most of them are entirely satisfactory. Repairing with these a hole dug in the tyre by a three-inch nail is almost as easy as getting it in the tyre.
i The nail should be removed j first, and the rubber solution in ; the kits pushed into the hole to » make the edges adhesive. Then • the' rubber plugs supplied are dipped in the solution and forced » into the hole. When the plug is • cut off level with the tread, the ; job is completed. If one does » spot a nail in |he tyre, there is ; no need for immediate repair, since the self-sealing solution in the tyre allows very little air loss.
