Government Falls In Luxemburg
(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.mJ LUXEMBURG, December 10. The Luxemburg Social Christ-tian-Socialist Government resigned today, 24 hours after a Parliamentary motion of censure against the Socialist Minister of Justice, Mr Victor Bodson, the British United Press reported. The Social Christians joined with the Liberals to censure Mr Bodson for allegedly failing to take steps against a private firm which attempted to bribe a Transport Ministry official.
The four Socialist Ministers resigned after the vote of censure and today the Premier, Mr Pierre Frieden, offered the entire Government’s resignation to the Grand Duchess Charlotte, who accepted it. Mr Frieden is expected to be nominated Premier-designate. If he fails to form a Government,’ general elections may follow.
