NORTH BEACH AQUARIUM
Retirement Of Owner The popular North Beach aquarium-at New Brighton, which for the eight years of its existence has attracted many thousands of visitors, has changed ownership because of the retirement of its fotmder, Mr C. C. Taylor, who will-leave Christchurch today to take up residence in Auckland.The aquarium began in a small building with a modest display about eight years ago. It has been enlarged to include 25 large tanks in which are exhibited about 50 different species of tropical fish. In another building are 30 other , tanks used for breed-
ing purposes. The two crocodiles which Mr Taylor obtained four years ago are now about four and a half feet long and have been moved into heated concrete pools in the new stone buildingThe new owner of the aquarium i is Mr W. A. Grey, of Christ- * church, who is a former president i of the Canterbury branch of the * Federation of New Zealand 1 Aquarium Societies*
