DUKE ORDERS MURAL
(Rec. 9.40 p.ril.) LONDON, December 11: The Duke of Edinburgh has broken a Royal tradition, and commissioned a remarkable mural painting from a “modern”'artlst. the “Daily Express” reported. Royal commissions are invariably given to artists who paint on classical lines, according to the newspaper. This mural is being done by Felix Topolski, a 51-year-old Pole, who paints in a spidery, caricature style. Depleting scenes from, the Coronation with portraits of the Queen, her husband, and Sir
Winston Churchill, the mural is being painted on a 100 ft long series of wood panels. It will line the gallery outside the Duke of Edinburgh’s study at Buckingham Palace. Topolski said that the Duke was pleased with his work on the mural so far and had told him to let himself go on it
