Army Cadet Wins Athletic Trophy
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 10. A. young athlete of outstanding promise was among those graduating at the Regular Force Cadet School, Waiouru, yesterday. Re is Cadet R. G. Sharrock, of New Plymouth, who won the Thomas Trophy for the best all-round cadet athlete of the year. In addition to winning two Army pockets this year—for cricket and for indoor basketball— Cadet Sharrock, who has Just turned 18, also represented King Country at Rugby. As a schoolboy last year, he represented Taranaki at cricket and basketball.
