ARMYWORMS STOPPED BY DIELDREX 15
A remarkable example of the complete effectiveness of the Shell insecticide dieldrin against armyworm is reported in districts where the appearance of the pest has reached plague proportions. Thousands of acres have already been sprayed with Shell Dieldrex 15 at the rate of 1| pints per acre in 5 or more gallons of water and farmers report, kills of 100 per cent within 24 hours. The importance of immediate action at the first sign of the caten>illars* appearance is stressed by Mr G. Arnot, Manager of the Shell Agricultural Division Farmers in areas adjacent to those affected can obtain complete protection from armyworm by spraying immediately. Additional supplies of Dieldrex 15 have been rushed to all suppliers and Shell representatives are doing their best to meet the heavy demand. Available from N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op.
